Security, fire-fighting, police and defence equipment in United States

The United States brings a different kind of procurement signal today, one that sits in risk rather than spend. The FBI has warned contractors that North Korean IT workers are trying to obtain positions with cleared defence companies and others with government contracts. That is not a buying notice, but it is highly relevant to anyone selling into sensitive public work. Vendor onboarding, subcontractor checks and workforce verification are not back-office details when contract access itself can be the target.

Otnox Radar, episode 24. When does a headline become a project you can actually chase? Eleven procurement signals across eleven countries. • The Dominican Republic awarded the Ozama bascule bridge for about DOP4.5bn. A 20% advance says execution is getting real. • Poland selected builders for about 90 km of roads around the future CPK airport. Adjacent infrastructure is moving before the airport itself is finished. • Ghana plans a data exchange hub linking 48 public registries. Integration and data governance suppliers should watch this early. • South Africa put R150m behind the MyMzansi government app. Funding makes digital delivery work more concrete. The United States has a different kind of challenge. Another bid protest was filed after DISA concluded that Leidos was the only company capable of transitioning all combatant commands to DoDNet. So a major defence IT contract expansion remains under challenge. For suppliers around that ecosystem, the practical issue is uncertainty around a programme that is still being contested.

Otnox Radar, episode 22. Big public buying numbers are back, but which stages actually matter? 10 countries in this episode, with signals across rail, telecoms, waste, mobility and public sector controls. • Romania launched a RON4.1bn rail procurement across seven regional branches. One source says offers can be submitted until 23 November. • Mexico is receiving expressions of interest for industrial 5G frequencies. That is an early access step ahead of a tender in 72 regions. • Italy’s court annulled a €45m waste contract in Misterbianco. The existing award no longer stands, and calls followed for a new tender. • South Africa’s ECD nutrition tender was delayed for the eighth time. Suppliers should treat timing and bid validity as real risks here. Every item comes from a public source, with the link on the episode page.
